Power door locksaz_brit 08-13-2004, 02:12 PM On my 2000 LX model, both passenger side door locks scream out when any lock or unlock is carried out. The locks have no removeable solenoid so will I have to replace the whole mechanism or could my problem be a bad signal coming from a main control unit? If so, where is the control unit and how can I test it? Thanks for any help offered. theFREAKnasty82 11-04-2004, 08:07 AM If you have a problem with your auto door locks, the main control unit that operates all door locks is your Body Control Module. Go to a dealership and have them take a look at it. rwood13 11-05-2004, 08:35 AM most likely it is the unit in the door, son has 97 Stratus, passenger front does it somtimes poombah 10-03-2005, 07:49 PM most likely it is the unit in the door, son has 97 Stratus, passenger front does it somtimes It'll spread, don't worry. My '99 Concorde started that way, now the front pass door takes 2 steps to unlock - first hit unlock (switch or remote) then manually unlock (key or pull up lock). And, all the locks now scream when all lock is hit to lock or unlock. If just unlocking the drivers door (one press on unlock remote) no noise. Also the drivers door doesn't always unlock fully when the door is opened with locked doors. Very bad when getting gas and leaving keys in car, just ask the wife! I had the car at the dealer when it was doing this (for different recall work) and the lazy bums said nothing! If the service guy had said "hey this is a known issue and it'll cost $XXX to fix, I prolly woulda said ok! Freak any idea on the $$ for this? You rock btw, great posts. theFREAKnasty82 10-04-2005, 11:20 PM Freak any idea on the $$ for this? You rock btw, great posts. Sorry, I don't know an exact quote anymore. I no longer work for my Chrysler dealer, I'm going independent. As a guess, I believe a body module goes for around $800+ programming. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
