Gas gauge stuck on fullluv2bowl 08-09-2004, 12:53 PM I filled my tank the other day and the gauge hasn't moved in 3 days. Unless I am blessed, I am guessing there is a problem. Anyone have any ideas? I just had a fuel pump put on in the last few months but it was fine until Saturday. GMMerlin 08-09-2004, 01:34 PM The float may be stuck, there is a bad spot in the sender or you have an open circuit to your guage. JSayre 08-22-2004, 11:22 PM I have the same problem. Rumor has it that gm fuel sensors are extra sensitive to sulfuric (bad) gas, and the electrical contacts are easily destroyed. I checked into fixing it... about $400 to replace at the dealer. Even worse, my regular mechanic (a reputable Delco parts dealer & family friend) says the sensor is only available to him as an assembly which I think he said includes the fuel pump & costs $600 FOR THE PART ALONE! Sad... I've gotten used to watching he tripometer. JSayre 08-23-2004, 06:50 PM I just found this: GM PART # 25314231 CATEGORY: Fuel Tank Meter Sender/Connector PACK QTY: 1 CORE CHARGE: $0.00 GM LIST: $114.28 OUR PRICE: $57.14. At gmpartsdirect.com. This IS the part number I got from the GMdealer. I'll have to call my mechanic again! Otherwise it's multimeter time... Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
