Question Changing rear brakes

I am needing to replace the rear rotors and pads on my 94 626. I have some experience in replacing brakes on a variety of different cars but I am so in trouble on this one. First, I can not figure out how to get the rear rotors off. Second, and most important, I can not get the new pads on the calipers. I have totally disassembled the calipers from the car. I was able to get the old pads off but the new pads are 'thicker' and I can not get them back in. I do not know the official names of the parts of the calipers, but the housing that holds the pads interferes with the hydrylic 'drum' that pushes against the pads. The front brakes 'housing' slides back and forth to allow room to put in the pads but in the back it does not move. I can remove one bolt to try to separate the two but the other bolt has no means to loosen it. I am really stumped. Is there documentation (diagrams would be great), that would explain this process. I can't even drive the car now to my mechanic.

Thanks for any info.

Well, I did the rear brakes on my 1998 626. I did not, however, replace the rotors. You have to use an allen wrench (hex key) to retract the piston so that you can put on the new pads. I used the Haynes manual to do the work. In general, Chilton manuals are useless.
