Hi my problem is I am not getting fuel to the fuel filter, Ive applied voltage directly to the wires (I think) that go to the fuel pump and have no fuel delivery.

Ive since tried to locate the fuel pump and cannot locate it. I first thought it was in what I thought was a water seperater container below the passenger side rear door floor. I white plastic box with fuel lines going in and out and a electrical connection to it. I opened it up only to find two electrode looking posts coming from the connector for the electrical wires. I also looked in the fuel tank where the fuel lines and sending unit is located and its not there either.

Can someone tell me where it is soposed to be? I bought the car not running (compression check was good) and now am wondering if someone removed the fuelpump altogether.

If that is the case can I generate enough fuel pressure to the injector pump with just a gravity feed (place a tank above the injector pump) so I can test the engine?

The diesel doesn't use an electric pump as the gas cars do. It is only the pump/fuel distributor driven off the timing belt. If you have air in the system it can be difficult to bleed. Try removing the fitting on top of the pump where the bleed hoses from the injectors return & filling it with fuel. Also fill the filter & check all the ines to be sure they aren't letting air into the system as the fuel is actually sucked into the pump from the tank. Put a charger on the battery & loosen a fuel line at the injector and crank until you see some fuel spurting, then move to another until it tries to start & tighten them back.
