Question Remote Key operation

My remote operation using the keys suddenly stopped working. I changed the batteries, and reset the keys per instructions in the manual, but did not help.
The keys work fine when I manually use the keys.
I took it to a local BMW dealer - they gave me a long story - they say that the antenna in the rear glass of the car for the remote has some interference and so to make it work, i will have to change the glass altogether.. Is this true?
Is there some fuse someplace that could be blown?

Any guidance is appreciated.

Don't know if it's the same problem, but my remote unlock fails from time to time. 2 things, first the little integrated circuit inside the remote that makes contact comes loose and needs to be pushed back in. Second, if the plastic case isn't tightly screwed closed it seems to cause problems.
