95 Sub-A/c on floor only-not in dash ventsjjwg3 08-03-2004, 06:16 PM My 1995 Suburban will not blow the air out of the dash vents with the A/C on. If I leave the control knobs in the same position and just push the switch to turn the a/c off, boom, vent air right out the dash. Hit the button and put the a/c back on, back down to the floor. I know the actuators are vacuum operated, but they must be working as the air does get redirected when the a/c is off. Any thoughts?? jjwg3 08-15-2004, 11:42 AM Well now the A/C switch doesn't work either. And the control knob means nothing anymore as far as swithing from floor to defrost, I'm stuck on floor only. The blower speed knob works, and the temperature knob seems to work but that's it. I pulled the control panel out of the dash and checked with a testlight only to find no power to any terminals on the round A/C switch. I checked all my fuses, any thoughts on this problem?? I seem to have lost power to parts of the control panel board but can't find why. Thanks, John e-mail JJWG3@AOL.COM jjwg3 08-29-2004, 09:42 PM Just read something about a connector behind the glovebox, will check that tomorrow night. Thought I'd kick this back to the top in hopes of another idea. I really believe I've lost power to only part of the control panel but don't know why...ANY input is appreciated!! Thanks, John JJWG3@AOL.COM radioshack 09-19-2004, 11:22 PM the problem you have is the a/c unit the controls . only the dealer sells this part you cant go to the junk yard or any one else .the part cost $100-120 dollars. they all go bad once in a surburbans lifetime . if you go anywhere else they will missmatch the part . the reason it stopped working is the resistor in the unit stop working and wont allow the unit to control the a/c vents . wolf_spyder 08-13-2005, 02:23 PM Is is possible that the a/c relay in the fuse box under the hood is bad? mitch2264 08-15-2005, 08:07 PM My 99 has "issues" in this department as well. If I leave the A/C button engaged and have the fan selector switch in the "Off" position the A/C light flickers. Also if the unit is turned off, but the mode selector is in the "Vent" position it blows on my feet--every once in a while it will blow out of the correct dash vents. Once I turn on the fan it straightens out. There are several sources other than the dealer for the control unit head you need. LMC, gmpartsdirect.com & Late Model Retoration Supply come to mind.
