Re: clunk noise when i drive in reverse
I have a 1998 Camry and noticed this right away. After asking the local mechanic and looked up the NHTSA reviews on the Camry, it looks like Camry are excellent cars but their brakes are in need of attention. Every time I back up I hear this "clunk". From what I understand is the brake assembly is shifting into another position due to the direction of travel of the tire vs. the position of the brakes. Is there a fix, not that I know of, just annoying and try to back up without aggressive accelleration and braking. If there is a prescribed fix by Toyota, I would like to hear it.
