96 bucking rodeo!

I have a 1996 rodeo that has lost power. It shakes (bucks) mostly from 1st to 3rd gear. It's a 5 speed. When it isn't bucking there's very little power. I'm talking about barely making 30 in a 65mph! I replaced the mass air sensor but didn't help. Fuel injectors and filter are new. I'm thinking it might be the fuel pump....please help! P.S. the volts are going crazy and it's idling up and down.

Thanks!
Kate

Re: 96 bucking rodeo!

Sounds like it could be a bad battery or is is weak or your alt is on the way out.

Isuzu's with weak batteries and/or alt do strange things.

Ryan-

I'll check the battery and alternator. I'll let you know if that's the problem. Thanks! kate

I read that a few years ago, great story.

I agree with the other posters, check the charging system first.

I had a similar problem, it was my alternator. Check to see if there is a recall on that for your year (www.recall.gov).
