Peterson's 4 Wheel & OffroadScottG 05-23-2001, 12:48 PM I have been a subscriber of the magazine for a couple of years and have been a little annoyed by the fact that they pretty much ignore Nissan. I was really pissed off this morning when reading an article about the 2002 Xterra in the Drivelines section of the July 2001 issue. They state that the offroad package includes tow hooks "the owner will need these" and "Nissan's newfound confidence is rather inspiring considering that, after all, they are a 4x4 underdog." I thought that the smart ass comment about the tow hooks was particularly uncalled for. At least we can put a locker in the Xterra without having to change half the drivetrain, as is the case with most Jeep vehicles. If you want to bitch at the editor (like I did), his name is Rick Pewe: pewer@emapUSA.com DVSNCYNIKL 05-23-2001, 01:05 PM I understand you aggravation. But it's hardly worth getting upset over. Those magazine critics are paid very nice dividends to make a certain marque sound better than another. I won't say that they are always full of it, just 45% of the time. I kinda like the Xterra. But I'm a big truck man myself. Philosopher 05-23-2001, 01:06 PM Nissans have been ignored by all four wheeling mags for years unless they are BUILT UP (which is tough because there is basically NO aftermarket support). What we need to do is all send a couple pics and a list of our mods to these mags to show them that we can tackle most of the same trails that the Jeeps and Toys do (*cough* Carb Hill in KY, the Golden Spike in Moab *cough*). :smoka: Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
