CV axle repairFSRBIKER 02-01-2002, 04:03 PM Anyone have a link to a site that has new shafts? Seems my clicking noise was coming from the inner cv which I did not notice had a torn boot and grit found it's way in there and wasted the cv joint. Nissan is a rip off since they want ~$400 for a new axle but a Drivetrain Specialists in Las Vegas will rebuild it for $119 with new boots(24 hour turn around)....tried the warranty route but got rejected. :finger4: so i am exploring my options, any ideas? wqbang 02-01-2002, 05:46 PM Autozone.com has them for $99 + $80 core charge. xoc 02-04-2002, 04:12 PM Originally posted by wqbang Autozone.com has them for $99 + $80 core charge. For a complete axle ? Their site is broken right now so I can't check. Do you have a direct link ? wqbang 02-04-2002, 04:16 PM As far as I know, that is for the complete halfshaft (REMANUFACTURED). http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?UseCase=C001&UserAction=performSearch&Parameters=Auto+Store%7C%7EREGULAR+PARTS+LOOK+UP%7 C%7ECV+HALF-SHAFT+%28REMANUFACTURED%29+CCT I know that halfshafts for my civic are usually ~$60 at Autozone stores. NAPAonline.com has them for $134 + $93 core at: http://www.napaonline.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ExecMacro/NAPAonline/search_results_kw.d2w/report?ENG=43%7C3.3+L++3275+CC++V6+VG33E&search_string=CV+Driveshaft+-+Front&org_string=CV Bryan OffroadX 02-04-2002, 10:25 PM The Autozone listing says it is for "either side" but that doesn't make sense. Isn't one shaft longer than the other? Brent xoc 02-05-2002, 05:36 PM Originally posted by OffroadX The Autozone listing says it is for "either side" but that doesn't make sense. Isn't one shaft longer than the other? They are identical. xoc 02-05-2002, 05:39 PM That's a good price, good enough to carry a spare. I've been keeping an eye on my local Pull-N-Save (http://www.pullnsave.com/) for dead Frontiers and Pathfinders, but they don't get them in very often. I wouldn't mind having an entire spare front end, just in case. Autozone.com is still giving an error :( I like this on the NAPA site... Warranty: Limited Lifetime rrdstarr 02-05-2002, 07:11 PM Pull-n-Save must be very similar to Pick-a-Part up here? Same kinds of deals and pricing. I prefer Poke-&-Pay. :D superjens 02-06-2002, 01:10 AM When I was a kid I used to do the Pick & Flick. cmxterra 02-11-2002, 05:21 PM Originally posted by wqbang Autozone.com has them for $99 + $80 core charge. That is a good price. And a great thing to carry with you when you are out wheeling!! Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
