warning light is on fr. dash board for brakelights 1989

Hi ! anyone got the same experience? my 1989 camry brake lights wasn't werkin I check all the fuses,wires and bulbs filaments were ok execpt the brake switch.

What do you mean "except brake switch". Yes I had this problem.
Taillight/brake light wiring shorted to left trunk hinge which in turn wipes out the light out sensor (yellow box) in the left trunk side wall. Open up sensor and inspect circuit board for solder traces burnt open. If this is the case, find shorted wire in harness near trunk hinge, fix, resolder circuit board or buy new sensor (better yet find one in junk yard).
Piece of cake, your back in business. You can test sensor by unplugging
connectors from sensor and jumpering around sensor to make brake lights work. Do not replace sensor till you have fixed short,cause it will just smoke again.

so isn't the swicth off ,on under the brake pedal ?
I'll return this car to the mechanic he fixed ths last time and he quarantte his werk thanks! for the info .can't find this info. on haynes toyota manuals.
