My 94 S10 4.3 Vortec Starter won't engage, I have swapped Batteries, cleaned and tightened the cables with no results. Is there a starter relay or starter fuse ?? Any suggestions appreciated

can you heard starter hum when u turn key? if so hit it with a hammer. or remove it to see if its no jammed

sounds like you have a starter solenoid problem ( this is part of your starter)

Under the motor, on the passenger side. If you do hit it with a hammer, just don't hit the terminal with the big wire.

The starter problem went away after setting for weeks, the truck then started and ran OK for a couple monthes and now the problem has returned. I Bypassed the Locktronic system thinking that might be the problem. Should I get a 12 Volt reading at the selenoid purple wire when turning the key to start postion ?
If so would this mean a bad starter/selenoid? Is changeing the starter a nightmare on this truck ?

Check your battery coltage with and without the truck running.
