rising engine temperaturejerseyan08618 07-26-2004, 09:59 PM I have a 98 civic ex that is overheating. this is what happened. i blew the factory thermostat and replaced it now when i come to a complete stand still the temperature will rise. i checked the radiator and the hoses are brand new what could be the problem? please help. riceburnersuck 07-26-2004, 10:16 PM your head gasket is goin out better get it fixed or will cost u more if don't get it fixed i_a_n112784 07-27-2004, 12:58 AM If the fan is working, I would say water pump. To see if the fan works, let the car get up to temp, and sit in your driveway with the hood open and wait for it to kick on. If it were the head gasket, you'd be burning coolant so you'd notice it disappearing. jerseyan08618 07-27-2004, 02:45 AM The head gasket might be it when i posted the first question my car started overheating i go to lincoln tech and just did a coolant check and all the fluid was fine. tonight there was virtually none thanks alot for the help Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
