yeah, I get the point, that is one of the reasons I am considering selling it, nothing I do(that is a worth it moneywise) would make it a "perfect condition" car, like I could have by buying a nice low mileage 99+ GSR much cheaper than rebuilding a older civic to have look new ALL OVER the car.

so you dont want it thats cool, dont gotta be a peice of shit about it though.

94tegRS, I would suggest looking up the used car ads in your area, autotrader.com, the paper, go to the local shops and check out the other cars listed on the all for sale. Then see what they are selling for, that will give you an idea of what the "fair market value" of your modified vechile will be in your area. Then from there deceide how much you'll take, and list it. If it helps any, I've seen cars like that go for starting at around 7.5K-8K here a few years ago (sometimes more depending on the car). Sure they had to wait awhile, the market for modifed vehciles wasn't huge, but they eventaully found a buyer. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but it will vary a bit from area to area.

I hope this info helps you find a price you can deem execptable. Good luck.

I looked in an autotrader mag, was a bit old, but it only had one hatchback with a swap, was a B18B stock, and a new silver paint job with leather interior fr 7700, I figured it was overpriced and couldnt compare it with othes since not many hatches were in there that were modded. I knowthat a modded car usually is worth less unless the right person is looking at the right time. was just wondering what people who were into cars enough to be on this board thought it was worth, but I dont think thats gonna go as planned. well, I guess I kinda got what I asked for just not what I wanted to hear.

thanks for the input.

check out autotrader.com

You'll find a greater varity, plsu it's free to surf. You can then check your and other areas. As I said, if you ask $7500, you'll get it eventually. If it's worth it to you, wait untill you find the right buyer, you eventaully will, though it will take time. I have found lots of young high schoolers with mom and dads pocket book to be "the right buyer" around here if that helps. Just wait for the right buyer, and remember to keep it detailed and looking sharp.

It's true, to most people it is now worth less, but wait for the right buyer and you'll be okay. $7700 was a little high for that, even to the "right buyer." With all the motor work you've done to yours. you eventually find a buyer for $7500 is you wait enough, though I can't say how long that will be. You're in Wa, anywhere never seattle? Maybe post some ads in the shops around there, like VTR, etc.

yeah, I didnt pay for the autotradewr, when you ride the ferries they have the old ones for free. I go online to check alot but end up looking for the car I wanna buy also and get addicted to that site, so i try and stay away as much as possible. lol

I wouldn't sell it at all. No one is ever going to love it as much as you do, because it's yours, so you're never going to get as much as you want for it. So why get rid of it? Just buy a new car without the trade-in. I don't know what your $$$ situation is, but the couple of thousand you'll get for your hatch could be made up for with just a few extra months of putting money aside. Then you've got two cars, which is pretty much never a bad thing.
There's really no other way you're going to be happy about seeing the old one go.

oh trust me, if you had my record trying to insure 2 cars would definately be a bad thing, plus I will get more than a couple thousand for it. sother bad thing would be if I had 2 cars to sink al my money into on mods I would be broker than I already am. I got 2 vehicles right now but only way I can afford it is I dont have my truck insured cuz I rarely ever drive it now that the civics running again, and when I have to it is impossible to get pulled over in a 84datsun 720.

I know what you mean, I go there and end up looking up everything in the world I want and never would want, lol...just to see the current market prices on things. Try it though, it'll give you more of an idea if you need one. Then I say hold onto it until you find the roght buyer for it. As I said, it may take awhile, but eventaully you'll find em. Remember, make sure you have a really good pic as the pic you use, it will make all the difference between catching someones eye and having them scan over it and move on. Try and get a pic with a nice background setting.

yeah, I basically want enough out of this and my truck to go down to so cal and get a nice 3rd gen gsr coupe. maybe just a 94-95 LS and a B16a sir2 swap, since I really only want the GSR for the vtec ECU/head, etc.. and the LS will be cheaper to insure, plus I can find an LS for under half what I can find a nice GSR for. and I always find gren GSRs and I want a white one again.

You're in Washington, right? Why are you going to go down to So Cal to buy a Teg? Can't find what you want up here?

Appraise it at edmunds, and then try to guess on the mods. Hard to value mods - more $ if you can wait for someone looking for modded ride. So I think wait too for right person and be patient.

because they are usually way cheaper down there. I recently got a 94 LS with axle back, unpainted front lip, 16's with 2 bald tires, nice cd player, tint, cheap coilovers, intake and axleback. it was in the paper for 7400, I got it for 5k though since I traded my bike for it and got my bike for an accortd trade and got the accord for 5k(paid like 28 bucks in sales tax total and drove a 97 accord, a 01 R1 and that teg for a while on 5k cash w/ no tax, was a sweet deal) and that wasnt really overpriced around here, was a bit high but not a lot, down there I can get 3rd gen coupes all day for 3-4k. quite a few are between 3500-4500 obo so I figure cash could knock off 500 if they actually wanted to sell it.

Well, I can see why you might want to go down there for those prices. Why are they so much cheaper in So Cal. I am from Oregon, and if they are that much less, I'd be interested too. Where do u look up the So Cal prices. Autotrader or an online newspaper classifieds? What Zip code do u use for So Cal when searching? I am looking to get a second car within 6 months or so (well, hoping, lol).

I use 90026 cuz that is my grandmas zip code down there, she lives arouynd laguna woods, about 20 minutes either way from my 2 uncles, so I could probably have wheels when I was down there to look. they are pretty cheap in oregon compared to here though, but I can usually find them even cheaper down there. who knows, maybe it is cuz all the rich businessmen buy pretty nice cars at first, then they make enough to drive bimmers, benz, ferraris or whatever and then dont really care if they lose a bit to se;ll it quick and so many are for sale the price is just forced down, cuz they are cheap in NY also, havent looked in other big citys but maybe its just liek that in big citys, sure not in seattle though.

I never thought of it that way. How close to seattle are you? I was looking on Autotrader last night, and there was this listing that was a bad joke. Some fool wanted 100g's for a 91 MR2. I was like, man, that's not even funny, get a life...geez. Anyways, keep us posted on how the car search goes.
