hey guys i just got my car from repairs for body owrk and suspension, rim and rear axle repairs which took 1 month to fix. i got the car back 3 days ago, and yesterday the car wouldnt start. my dad and i degreased the engine and we covered the electrics. then i drove it the same day we degreased the engine and every thign was alright. the yesterday, the car didnt start. everytime i try and start the engine, the little led light for the alarm lights up and blinks when trying to start, but my dad thought that the battery may not be charged cause the car hasnt been used for a month.

so we jump started the car and left it running for 40 minutes, then turn it off, and start the car again, and it started. but then this morning, it did the same thing. do u think i need to put some distilled water into the battery. would that help. cause it yesterday when it did not start, after i jump started it, and let it ran for 40 minutes, i drove the car for 30 minutes, and it seemed ok. would distilled water charge give life to the battery

thanks cause theres a diagram on the battery, and if says green for 100-50 % black for 50-5% and white for empty. it looked black. does that mean there is no more water in the battery.

thanks

Ok, distilled water is a temporary fix. While it dilutes the acid, making it weaker, it does however give more surface area of the lead for the acid to react with, making the car start (normally).

You might try buying acid itself from a parts store. I know that advanced auto parts sells battery acid, and I believe that many others would as well. Or, if you have the cash get a new battery if yours is 3 or so years old.

But before you do anything, make sure the terminals are nice and clean.

was the car in an accident on the right side? if so the alternator wires might be crimped and its not giving the battery a proper charge.
