t25 or t3/t4 on a stock 420aeclipse5764 07-25-2004, 10:29 PM Which turbo will spool faster a t25 or a t3/t4 on a stock internal 420a? I cant decied. Thanks JoeWagon 07-25-2004, 10:57 PM Jesus H Christ. I recommend you read a little more about turboing a 420A, and turbos. 'T3/T4' IS NOT A TURBO There are at least 50 variations of T3/T4, 90% of which can NEVER be run on a 420A, and they ALL spool slower than a T25, because theres a giant different in size. Shpyder 07-25-2004, 11:51 PM Joe's right, its like a genre. Get a 14B if you ca, but the T-25 is also cool, the spool up is alot quicker than most of these bigger ones. joemathews 07-26-2004, 12:35 AM Jesus H Christ. Ah, the joys of being a mod! I remember reading in an old thread that Jake strongly suggests running a T25 if you are planning to turbo the old 420a. If your goal is to blow your engine and buy a GS-T or GSX, go with a T3/T4 like JoeWagon suggested :lol2: ! 96TSi 07-26-2004, 02:14 AM 'T3/T4' IS NOT A TURBO huh? i was pretty sure t3/t4 is a turbo that garrett makes but i am somewhat of a DSM noob so laugh if im way off base kjewer1 07-26-2004, 03:04 AM Its just the "frame" size if you will... T3 is the exhaust side, with wheels being stage 1, 2, and 3, and housings typically being .48, .63, or .82. The compresor side is t4, common wheels being 46 trim, 50 trim, 54 trim, 57 trim, 60 trim, 60-1, and 62-1, housings being the TO4B, tO4E, and To4S. There are other lesser known parts as well, and these can all be mixed and matched in a huge variety. I put up a lengthy post on this, I think it might even be stickied. JoeWagon 07-26-2004, 08:44 PM It's in the sticky, down called 'Turbo specification clarification' I believe. T3/T4 is just a name for the kind of turbo, there are as many T3/T4's as T3's AND T4's, most of which have very different spool up and top end characteristics.
