'96 3.2 V6 4X4 5-speed

My tensioner has definetly died. The dealer did not have one in stock
so it'll be at least 3 days till I can replace it.
Now for the ? I am about 6 or 7 miles from work. Would I be safe
driving back and forth for 3 days of should it be on "blocks" and call in
a favor for a carpool till it is replaced?
