98 honda passport

Our air condition wont stay cold unless the car is moving, as soon as we stop at a light or stop sign, it immediatly starts to get warm to hot air. Its just in idle the fan doesnt come on anymore to cool off the condenser. We have had the freon charged, the fuses checked also. Any suggestions? Thanks

ps. I couldnt think of a user id, so I used badash since we just watched army of darkness the other night.

Thanks chrissy

I would take it back to the place that serviced it. Sounds to me like the system is overcharged or could be leaking.

i bet the a/c fan isnt running anymore, when your driving air is moving past the condenser, as you slow down it isnt colling it anymore.... take it to the dealer and have them check it out.......

yeah, that is the problem i have, i dont want to take it in and that is why i came to the site. I was hoping that someone could tell me if it is a relay or maybe a fuse that i havent checked.
Maybe someone has run into the same problem as me.

Thanks for the replys :)

This is what you should do. Go buy the 134a recharge kit at autozone for like $25. Let all of the refrigerant out of the car. then recharge the system. It is easy enough to do yourself.
