power locks

My power door locks stopped working this winter. I haven't had time to look at them and I'm not very good and this type of diagnostics. Anybody know of any possible causes / solutions?

Even An Idea of What I should check first would be a big help? It doesn't seem to be a big problem in rodeos's since there is nothing too much on it in this forum.

Re: power locks

Well I checked out my power lock system...strange!

My drive side door lock actuator looks like it's busted. But...when I checked the fuse ... wait a minute there is no fuse, and no points for the fuse.

But I know that the power locks worked up until last winter. All I can think of is some previous owner/mechanic wired around the fuse and took out the points. I can't know for sure.

Another thought is that my power locks don't have a manual switch, just when you unlock the driver side door all the doors unlock and when you lock it all the doors lock. simple but effective.

Perhaps this feature was an add on?

Does anbody know anything about this?

Re: power locks

I was reading another thread where someone said they install this kind of unlock one door they all open; lock it and they all lock as an aftermarket thing.

Is it possible that this is an aftermarket thing and that's why no fuse or points?

Now I'm wondering what kind of actuator is in there. When I took the broken one out it didn't have anything labelled on it, maybe I'll have to take another look.

Does anyone have any insight?

I'm an idiot, if you have a manual for your vehicle use it.

This type of locking system is common to isuzu vehicles. IN my case the auto locks fuse under the hood is not used in this circuit, hence there shouldn't be points for it. Rather the fuse used is a 25A fuse in the Dash Fuse box in slot 4 which is marked "(RR DEF)" I guess last winter I took the fuse out not thinking I needed it.

Like I said I'm an idiot.
