1993 4r Tuneup

Thanks for you advice. This is my second 4runner, and my pride and joy. I could keep this baby 'til 300,000 miles.

Hey, I'm tuning up my 1994 4runner, V6, Auto, 4x4, with 32" BFG A/Ts. It's gonna have 129,000 miles real soon. It had it's engine replaced at 99,000 miles. I have to do a 30,000 miles service to it, but I've already done all the fluids (except the radiator.)

I may switch to synthetic oil, AMSOIL 10W-30, and use and AMSOIL oil filter. I tried this combo before, but the QuikELube guys may have reused the old oil pan drain plug washer (it's plastic I think) and I started leaking oil. Have you heard of this problem with 1993s?

I've got sythnetic AMSOIL ATF and AMSOIL 75W-90 in the front and rear differentials. However, I still need to do the rest of the FULL TUNE-UP.

I've got a partial list. Please add to it as you see fit:

- Stock spark plugs ($1.99 each) - ? Does this matter? Is platinum better or a waste of money? They say NGK is the best, but is it worth the extra expense?

- Spark plug wires ($55!)

- Cap and Rotor ($25)

- Syntheic oil and oil filter

- Replace Air filter

Rotate tires

Flush radiator.

Clean brakes and reapply anti-squeal gunk.

New battery.

- I use AMSOIL P/I for my fuel injectors (1 oz. per tank) Do I need them cleaned out as well?

- Fuel filter replacement? Necessary? Might as well?

- Where can I find an inexpensive tranny cooler? What brand? And how much / how easy is it to install? I've got to extend the life of my auto tranny with 130k on it, with only AMSOIL synthetic ATF in it.

- What's the best value catback system with free-flow muffler?

What am I missing?
