lights all lit up

Hey,

I'm writing this forum for a buddy of mine and the other day her car light on the dashboard all lit up and then a few minutes later her car died.

I was thinking the spark plugs....or a censor cable came loose.

Any idea's?

thanks

uhhh... What?? details are a little sketchy there...

So... Service engine light came on and then the car died right? Did it start again after wards? Did it die out again right away? A few more details would help...

Re: lights all lit up

Well, she told me that she was driving along then every warning light in dashboard lit up. From check engine, to blinkers and went out. Then about 10 minutes later, her car died as she was pulling into a car stall.

Her car has since started up and been running. The dashboard lights have yet to light up.
She just worried that it will stall again.

The alternator may be going bad. Go to Advance Auto or Autozone (or any other auto parts store for that matter) and they can run a test on it for free. Dont take it to a dealer though, they will charge an arm and a leg to hook it up to thier diagnostic machine and more than likely tell you nothing is wrong with it.

Re: lights all lit up

Also check the fusible links coming from the starter connections. These go bad and lights flicker on and off and all sorts of things flash.
