Hi,
I need to replace the passenger side mirror on my 1998, 4 door honda accord. I got the new mirror assembly from the dealer. The only problem I'm having is how to disconnect the electrical wiring so that I remove my current broken one and install the new one. I tried looking up in Chilton and Haynes and all it says is "disconnect the electrical wires" but doesn't explain how to do it.
I was wondering if anyone knows how to install passenger side mirror in general and how to remove the electrical wiring for the mirror specifically?

thanks

There is a connector that you have to undo. I don’t remember where it located, it can be behind mirror cover (in corner of window) or it could behind door cover. Mirror cover held by clips, so all you need to do is pull it. Door cover held by two screws and 6 or 8 clips, one screw is in door opener handle, other one at door handle/pocket. With screws removed you need to pull door cover off, start at lower left corner (grab on storage pocket) and work your way to right and then up along edge of door cover. There will be some wires go door cover, you may want to disconnect them if they in your way.

I removed the cover behind the mirrot, the connector is not there. I'm having trouble removing the door cover. The screw in the door opener is a tough one, I was able to unscrew it but not able to remove the cover.

make sure that you removed all screws and pull door cover off. grab on pocket in lower left corner and give solid pull.

i don't think i can help you in any way, you just have to do it.

HONDA 99, thank you very much, just followed your advice to the letter and was able to replace my broken mirror (of course with the help of a friend)

I need help with the passenger side door mirror on a 1999 Accord 4 door sedan. ONLY the mirror needs replacing *not* the entire mirror assembly.
I have the replacement mirror and it appears that it attaches to 2 white buttons connected to the remote mechanism.
Thanks
