Lexan windowknorwj 07-14-2004, 07:37 PM ok quick question... I'm building a new box for my AW1205Q audiobahn subs. It is all 3/4 MDF board, however I had planned on putting in a 8"x24" Lexan window in the back of the box becauase these subs have a somewhat flashy basket I figured why not show it off. Anyway The lexan I have is only 3/8" thick, and now that I am actually building the box, the lexan feels a little flimsy. Kinda wish I had 1/2". Anyway before I cut the opening I was hopeing to get some feedback. Do you think that a 3/8" thick piece of lexan is too thin to go in my box? Will I get a funky sound from it? knorwj 07-14-2004, 10:35 PM alright well I waited longer than I wanted to already... I'm going to try it, worst case scenario I buy anouther sheet of MDF and replace the back of the box if the lexan doesn't work out. spy604 07-24-2004, 11:48 PM IMO theres no way that lexan is going to break. if it was plexi id say yea, but not lexan. i know a guy that uses 3/8 lexan as a router table in his woodshop, and that thing is barely scratched. but if it does break, i think you better start worrying about your hearing...and bolts in your car getting rattled out TheOutsider 07-25-2004, 02:46 AM my soul is made of lexan.......you can see straight through it........cool idea man....best of luck *up* i like the signature.....i have a shirt with a picture of a '69 camaro, that says "my other ride is your mother"......it rocks out with its cock out vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
