91 accord suspected blown headgasketdoughboy_customz 07-13-2004, 06:57 PM i just recently got a 91 accord LX but it has a problem. When i was driving it on the interstae at about 80 MPH for about 30 minutes i pulled over to get some fuel when it started blowing steam out of the exhaust REALLY REALLY bad then it started to run hot so i shut the engine down and let it cool off. i then restarted the vehicle then i drove it about 100 yards and it ran hot again (still blowing tons of steam out) i had it towed. the exhaust manifold has always had a small crack in it i noticed while its running that small crack is bubbling out water O_O i never let the car get into the red on the temrature gauge so i dont think it cracked a head. does this sound like a blown head gasket to you all? thanks for the help AccordCodger 07-14-2004, 07:21 AM Yup - could be. Though a blown head gasket ain't what it used to be in the good old days of cast iron heads. (I've been known to use gasket sealer and put the old gasket back!) For it to blow at all on a modern engine is likely a sign of more trouble. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
