I had bought a Lancer OZ rally last month and had a Cyclone 2.0 l turbo charged engine bought from a friend that i dropped in and now it is putting out 235 Hp at the wheels! I will be doing more mods soon. next is a custom fitted for the Mirage 5zigen exhaust or A GReedy exhaust made for the lancer!

Peace David

The motor is not from a car really. He bought it for his 3000gt but it did not fit and he did not want to spend upwards of $4,000.00 to get it to fit. And I had the money so he sold it to me. Pics will be up in about two or three weeks.

No offense or anything, but why would your mate want to put a 4-cycl engine into his 3000GT?
And an engine that makes less power than the one its got.

I also dont understand about putting a 4 cyl into car that has a 6 stokc, but maybe he had the SL and then that engine putting 235 HP at the wheels is more than the stock SL isnt it, but im sure the 6 had more torque

No I am not lying. His car is a 3000gt SL it comes stock with a 2.4L v6 engine that puts 222hp to the wheels and around 200 toqure but he still is getting a smaller engine 2.0L. Only reason I could think of is that he got the engine is because of the price and hp were more reasonable. But still, my friend is a dumb ass I do not know the real reason why he would want to but i did not mind since it got me a new engine.

hey buddy your still still stupid who wants a glorified civic with cool wheels (which is all your oz is) which is specifically targeted to be cheap so 16-24 yr old women will be the main buyers. in oct the evo 7 will be in the us and its awd with 260 hp so it already crushing your modded OZ. plus who buys a brand new car and puts a new engine in it sounds pretty stupid to me.

Actually the Oz rally is'nt even a glorified Lancer. Its basically the same car from japan with minor changes which mostly are the wheels.

Here's a link: http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.jp/PRODUCTSS/cedia.html

p.s there is an all wheel drive version of this too :D

RCN2002 yeah unlike some people on this board I can not afford the insurance on the EVO7 because I have 2 points on my license + the cost to buy the EVO7 (around 30k). So for me the best way to go was to get an oz rally or ES model lancer and modify it to be an EVO7. Look I put $5,000 worth of work in to my car and paid $16,085 for it so that is about $21,085. With that I have around 25 less hp. then an EVO7 for about $8,000 less then it. :flipa: By the time you get your EVO I will have more Hp and Torque then you for the same price you paid w/ lower insurance. And one more thing the OZ is not at all a Glorified civic. And even if you think it is I don’t give a damn. Because it still is a LANCER.

David Skakle,

i got no problem with you buying an OZ lancer and modding it. and rcn2002 isn't going to get an Evo. being able to get a car like an Evo is like having sex for the first time. once you actually have sex, you don't go around bragging and making fun of others who haven't had sex. rcn2002 won't be getting an Evo, not for a while anyways. if he was he'd be talking about it and not badmouthing other people for buying cheaper cars.

i was going to get an audi A4 1.8T and mod it up to about 280 HP, but here's why i'm not. you put $6-7 grand into a car. then you run it into the back of a big-ass sport-ute and the engine's fried. insurance isn't going to pay shit for all the mods you did. you pay to insure an OZ lancer, with all it's parts, not a modded engine or anything else. i wasn't willing to take that risk, so all i have to say is if you get in a wreck, don't let it be your fault. and get some pics of the engine bay, i wanna see.

Two cheers for Moldy...
Someone buy that guy a drink!
Good point Moldy, well handled.

So the link above, AWD huh, meens we here in the states should be able to buy the parts for that conversion and make our Lancers closer to the EVO.

I have a note here for rcn2002. Not that you guys haven't already handled it well, but I just want to add:

That is all. Please continue. BTW, your car sounds like it's coming along nicely, David. :)
