Running Rough - More Info

1995 2.2L S-10 5-Speed
I had posted a few days ago but did not get a response. I have more information at this point. The engine had seemed to be running on two cylinders and I suspected that one of the coil packs was defective. This was not the case. I then replaced the plugs and plug wires as they had corrosion inside the caps. Still no change. I tried to duplicate the problem with another S-10 2.2L by disconnecting one of it's coil packs and it would actually idle somewhat. My S-10 spits every so often as you crank it but will not idle in any form or fashion.

Can anyone suggest where to look next? Is it typical for the fuel system to have a problem that would stop the truck in it's tracks? I believe I can hear the fuel relay click in (the one in the glove box?) and the fuel pump do it's initial pressure up for about 4 seconds, therefore I don't think it is the problem. Are the injectors controlled seperately by an ECU of some sort to manage the air/fuel mix for each individual cylinder?

Thanks for any reply,

John
