Fuel Pump R&R

What's the skinny on replacing the fuel pump on a '97. I know where the access point is but how do remove the trunk liner without tearing it? Are there any special tools needed? Can you disconnect the positive side of the battery for saftey? Thanks !!

Looks like an old post...BUT for those tuning in...always when it comes to the fuel pump in your car, order the fuel pump from the dealer. Not aftermarket!
