6.2 diesel problem

I have a 6.2 diesel i rebuilt in school. When it is running it will make a poping sound out of the intake port of clyinder #5. I had the heavy duty rockers on it then i swiched to the standard rockers and it still pops. also It wont show hardly any oil pressure. I've had three differnt sending units on it and it still doesnt. I put a brand new one on the today and it shows just a little pressure. It has a new oil pump and we have manualy turned the pump and it pumps oil. I need to figure out what is wrong.

thanks
bud

Re: 6.2 diesel problem

Put a known good mechanical pressure gauge on the oil system to see what the oil pressure is. If it's low, it's either too much bearing clearance, a stuck relief valve or a wimpy oil pump.

Is the #5 intake valve sealing properly?
