power antenna

hello everyone,,,,,the power antenna on my 1995 aurora has not been working for a while...i checked all the fuses,all were ok..i then ordered a antenna from ebay,from a 95' aurora..still won't work..an ideas,i'm getting frustrated..

Check to see if you are getting power to the power antenna, my last vehicle had a short somewhere between the fuse block and power antenna causing it not to work all of the time. If so of course you will have to locate the short but that sounds like the culpret here to me. Good luck. Oh to test for power you will need to get a light tester from your local parts store, they're pretty cheap.

There is another thread discussing a power antenna problem. Albeit that one is intermittent. In addition to the fuses there is a relay in the circuit. Power is always supplied to one side of the relay even when the ignition and radio switches are in the off position (that's how the antenna is retracted when you turn the automobile off). I have the '95 Aurora Service Manual. I'll recheck the schematic and diagnostic table to tell you which leads, ignition/radio switch positions and expected voltages (if you like).

Check your ground coming off the antenna for a good connection also.
