Firebirds!! Help Me Choose!!

Hey everybody, well I am a muscle car addict, I can not get enough of all the GM muscle cars from past and present!!! I decided that I want to buy a firebird more than most others, and I was wondering how well you like yours? I would be buying a 3rd Gen, with the 350 or MABYE the 305 if it was one of the more powerfull 305's, or if i cant find a 4th gen formula for cheap($5G's and under) I will jump on that. I appreciate all advice and comments on the cars mentioned before...so lets hear it!

305 TPI

I've got two 3rd gen firebirds both with the 305 Tuned Port Injection (TPI). They're certainly not as fast as the LT1/LS1 motors, but from what I've heard you should be able to find a good 305TPI for about $1200. From the factory they boasted 210 hp, but with exhaust and a few tweeks, you should easily see 250. Good luck.

I love mine. you could easily pick one up for 2-3000 with a 350. mine's a 305 also now it's no where near a ls1 but it's pretty quick it does 0-60 in around 6 sec. plus it's got 2.73:1 gears so thats pretty good I think. if you want to modify it though go for the 350 they don't make anywhere near the amount of performance parts for 305's as for the 350's. but if worst comes to worse you can always build a 350 for it. then you could really haul some ass.

Yea I think u should definately buy one. They handle extremely well run for a long time and are a very tight and nice car. They also look nice and run great. I have a 91Firebird Formula 350 with 75000 miles which I picked up for 4000bucks and put a Random Technology exhaust system on for about 300bucks nothing else done completely stock and I ran a 14.3 consistently at the track on bald street tires.
