1971 Spitfire 1500BIGbungy 01-27-2002, 11:46 PM How many of this exact model are in circulation in the continental U.S.? Moppie 01-28-2002, 12:19 AM Wow! now thats a challanging question! Ill go through all my old links and see what I can find for you. All the production numbers are still avliable, but it will be fun finding them. SpitfireNutUK 02-26-2002, 05:40 AM The 1500 was popular in America, although the huge overriders requred by US regs did detract from the looks of the car...:bandit::flamer: spnx 02-26-2002, 08:45 AM Originally posted by SpitfireNutUK The 1500 was popular in America, although the huge overriders requred by US regs did detract from the looks of the car...:bandit::flamer: As well as adding weight to where you least need it! I almost bought a Spitfire (cheap, never winterdriven) recently, but decided one British car was enough... Moppie 02-26-2002, 04:11 PM Hmmm tough choice between an SP250 and Spitfire! What did you do with the spit? spnx 02-27-2002, 08:35 AM Not a tough choice for me at all! I'd hang onto the SP250 for sure! It only has 40,000 miles. Never selling it. I just wanted the Spitfire as a dedicated track-only car. Actually, my neighbour is still selling it. He hasn't sold it yet. Hmmm. P.S. I'm impressed you know the SP250. Most people have never heard of them. karlInSanDiego 12-01-2002, 11:41 AM A British car fan not knowing about the SP250, is like an Italian car fan not knowing about a the Stratos (http://www.stratossupersite.com/) http://www.stratossupersite.com/images/Alit2.jpg jsb88 01-19-2003, 04:12 AM I restored a Triumph Spitfire a few years ago, but it was an on road convertible, with no track.
