light truck vs passenger tiresIA-Suburban 07-04-2004, 10:17 PM I just purchased LT tires for my 89 1500 suburban. Noticed afterward the the spare was a passenger tire. Ride seems a little harsh with the lt tires. What has everyone else used? draston 07-06-2004, 08:26 AM BF Goodrich All Terrain TA... sniper4x4 07-09-2004, 09:54 AM TrXus STS - All Terrain Mintman 07-09-2004, 11:56 PM Michelin MS Ketch 07-10-2004, 02:01 PM Michelin LT. Original tires were I think Bridgestones. They were P rated and were shot by 28K miles. I switched to Mich LT's and the ride was smoother. LT's are Load rated as C - like 1850 lbs. Sidewalls are stiffer so better towing and load capabilities. These are the real deal LTs not the X radials or Sears version. I've been round and round on tires and for my money Michelin's are the best tire for the money. IA-Suburban 07-10-2004, 05:11 PM Thanks for the info. My spare was a tiger paw. Sounds like I did a good thing with the LT but shuld have looked at Michelin vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
