need help deciding......help please =Dsylojai 01-27-2002, 06:31 PM hey everyone, I'm a newbie here. (Just joined last night) I've recently purchased a 96 civic ex (stock everything) and have decided to modify it a bit to give it some umph so I don't feel like a total loser having everyone pass by me when a red traffic light turns green. The acceleration from 0-50mph is crazy slow so I'm hoping a new catback exhaust system and AEM cai will help out a bit. OK so heres the question........I've narrowed it down to 2 exhaust systems....the Apexi N1 series or the Greddy Evo. I'm going more for performance than sound and looks. I've reserached quite a bit on catback exhausts and those are the 2 that more people seem to praise. I'm pretty new to the whole import scene as well so any input on other brands that I should consider would be greatly appreciated. So what do u all think? Apexi or Greddy? madtownhonda 01-27-2002, 06:44 PM you should get a thermal if your more performance oriented....it's an overall better exhaust than the two you mentioned and basically all others as well Poweredbyhonda 01-27-2002, 07:04 PM out of apexi and Greddy, i say go greddy. IMO good luck finding ur choice:) Xplocivic 01-27-2002, 07:11 PM The Evo is da bomb! Go with Greddy, and you won't go wrong. Apexi is nice too, I just prefer the Greddy. praxis 01-27-2002, 07:15 PM Acually, if you are looking for performance, you may want to consider just buying a muffler and have custom pipe ran with no resonator (I know that everyone is getting sick of hearing this from me). You will get more power gains and spend less money. If you still decide to get the cat-back, madtown is right. THERMAL. Instead of the AEM look into Iceman...They seem to have more power gains (despite what everyone says). jimmyfunk 01-27-2002, 07:39 PM Originally posted by praxis Instead of the AEM look into Iceman...They seem to have more power gains (despite what everyone says). What evidence do you have of this? Or does anyone else have some comparative dyno charts of these two CAI's? jimmyfunk 01-27-2002, 07:43 PM Originally posted by praxis Acually, if you are looking for performance, you may want to consider just buying a muffler and have custom pipe ran with no resonator. I agree w' praxis there, if you want something done right, you'll have to do it yourself (or pay someone to do it). You can just install the muffler initially, and then you can upgrade the piping as soon as you want or have the $$. This is much cheaper than buying the full exhaust system.
