I've got a 2001 626 ES and it makes a slight noise when I start. It takes a couple seconds to turn over and when it does, it has a metal scraping kind of sound. I'm not sure what is causing that. The car starts after a couple of seconds most of the time, but I usually have to hold the key in the start position for it to start.
