turn off headlights

i have read the tutioals about over righting drl's and everything but couldn't i just put and inline switch in the head(And tail) tights power so that i could turn them off if i need to (ie sneaking out of the house at 4 am) [my best guess would be to find fuse that controls my lights and place and inline switch immedatly following the fuse] any comments or suggestions

If you start the car with the parking brake up one or two clicks the head lights will not come on. This is also used if you want to sit in your car with the engine running but no head/tail lights on.
