Re: trailer brake control

Depends on if the previous owner left the harness for you either hooked up under the dash or in the glove box. I didn't have the harness, or want to buy one, so I was able to pull the power center's cover off behind the parking brake. I believe the wires plug into a wire cluster on the right side of the box. (its labeled) I useded a test light to find the right wires, but you can always just get the harness from the dealer. Then I had to install a large fuse in the apporpiate place in the fuse box under the hood. (Although my truck is a 8.1 HD, so maybe yours is different) Not sure if this helped or confused you?! Good luck!

Re: trailer brake control

I have the same truck and I installed a Prodigy brake controller. The dealer wanted twenty some dollars for the cableso I went to U-Haul believe it or not. It was like seven bucks or something. The jack for the connector is on the firewall behind and to the left of the brake pedal. The cover is held in with a long nut thingy that you can probably remove with your fingers. I already had the fuse in place which means that the previous owner took the cable with him when he traded it in. It came from the factory with the cable in the glove box.
