Exclamation Permanently disarm theftlock-delco...help!!!

Hey,
Someone out there please help!! Does anyone know where I can get a hold of a free owner's manual for a 98 chevy cav (possibly something I can just download and print out)... Someone was kind enough to give me my codes to unlock my stereo...but I was advised to look in the owner's manual to permanently disengage it..Anybody gotta clue???

thanks in advance

you cant permanently disable theftlock on the stereo. You can enter the code but whenever you disconect the battery you will have to enter them again

You can permanently disable the Theftlock on the pre-2000 radios (I believe it changed in 2000). After 2000 you can't really disable it, but it doesn't really matter since you don't need to mess with codes/or combinations. The 2000 and newer radios somehow match up with your vehicles VIN number in the car's computer. At least, thats how it was explained to me. Bottom line, the only time you have a problem with a 2000+ radio is if you try to put it in a different car than it came in.
