turbo psiPowerCrazy 06-28-2004, 10:38 PM just a quick question on a '94 MR2 turbo with stock internals, what's the highest psi you can somewhat safely run? and how high can you go with upgraded internals? JekylandHyde 06-29-2004, 05:40 AM If you are using the OEM turbo (CT26) do not exceed 15 psi. However, with proper enginemanagement, proper intercooling, proper fuel and an upgraded turbo .... .the sky is the limit. I am running 23 psi on a 197,800 mile 91T engine with a T3T4 turbo. 200SXGTi-R 06-29-2004, 09:26 AM do you still have stock internals? JekylandHyde 06-29-2004, 09:53 AM My engine is 100% original. Toyota assembled it 14 years ago and the closest anyone has come to touching it is me installing a powder coated valve cover. :) ... head, block, head gasket, pistons, crank, rods, valves, springs, etc .... all original, untouched. drazhartd 06-30-2004, 02:39 AM 23 psi? how high can one safely boost with 91 octane? JekylandHyde 06-30-2004, 06:26 AM 91 octane? ... seeing as the engine the engine requirements are for 93, I would not go over stock boost. Personally, I wouldn't even run that hard unless I had water injection. 200SXGTi-R 06-30-2004, 08:34 AM what EMS are you running ..and what sort of A/F ratio do you tune for? thats an acomplishment for no internal work with that many miles. does is smoke ...even a little? the cylinder walls and or piston rings gotta start wearing if not yet ...sooon. its inevitable. and if so what will be your replacement? JekylandHyde 06-30-2004, 08:40 AM 1. Right now I am on the factory ECU tuned with SAFC, VPC and AFPR. A/F was kept under 12:1 2. It does not smoke at all. 3. 15,000 miles of using water injection and I have perfect compression - 176 across the board. 4. 90+ 1/4 mile passes, 20+ dynos pulls, lots of hard street driving and one serious weekend of Hill Climb racing :) drazhartd 06-30-2004, 02:10 PM sigh... 91 octane is our premium here in phoenix az.
