Question BP-T Price/parts

I'm trying to make a desision (like alot of other people) about witch engine to swap. The price of a KL-ZE is about 2500-3000 with a new tranny and ecu and clutch and some other things...but what is the price for the BP-T swap? and what kind of extra parts would i need?

Another question, if was going to swap the BP-T and re-turbo it, would i cost the same as swapping a KL-ZE and turboing it?

Re: BP-T Price/parts

dont you have a MX3 GS? It seems to me that the BPT swap into a GS would be more than a ZE...

The BPT swap into a 4 cyl is even more expensive of a swap than the ZE into a GS.

Basically, if you have a GS, then your options are: KLZE, KLDE, KFZE etc.

If you have an RS, your options are the BP, or the BPT.. they are several versions of the motor but I dont know much about 4 cyl swaps... go to mx-3.com if you dont go there already, Im sure you'll get a much better answer there (Already asked by someone else).

Re: BP-T Price/parts

well acculy, i don't yet have a car, i'm just planning what to do...i have about 7000 to play around with, and i've decided for sure that i'm getting an MX-3, mostly because of the reliabilty at high milage, because there cheap enuff, and if there in shit condition i could get it for cheap and swap the engine. I'll basicly deside witch type of mx-3 to get based on witch engine i'm swapping to, preferably the most bang for buck...anywho, if you could aswere the questions above that would be more that great

Thanks!

I know a guy around here that made a gtx swap into his rs and IIRC he payed around 4000 cad$ including engine installation and couple other thingies...

a klze in a gs will cost you around 2000-2500 cad$ installed with a tranny

gtx is around 180hp and klze 200...gtx is alreay turboed and not the ze..
see where I'm getting here

anyways you could still swap a klde that is available everywhere for a low cost and then boost it and you can have a monster...

you have lots of possiblities...you don't own the car yet so you can pic the one you out..

oh sorrry about the langage..I'm not english lol

Re: BP-T Price/parts

GTX into an RS? thats pretty cool...yah i was thinking it would go the KLZE way and turbo it with very low boost, and because of the high compression it would make alot of horspower. Would swapping the KLZE and turboing it be cheaper or more expesive than swapping the a B6T or
BPT and returboing it?

Re: BP-T Price/parts

if you have an RS, I would not reccomend swapping to a V6. For two reasons: 1) It is going to cost you a leg to do, because so many parts will need to be modified/upgraded. 2) It is illegal to change a 4cyl to a 6 cyl (here it is anyways).

Go to MX-3.com and check out the swap page. LOTS of answers. I would suggest going there to find answers before asking them here, you will get them quicker and probably more accurate.

Re: BP-T Price/parts

well I'm got a GS, and I'm going for the KL-DE (K03) from the MX-6... I live in the states, so finding a MX-6 V6 isn't going to be too difficult, and parts are cheeper and easier if I go that way... it depends.. also I'm lookin at Turboing it... I do have one question.. If I get BullFrog cams for my engine can I transfer them to the KLDE? like what internals are transferable..

mm. IIRC bullfrog makes cams for the I$ only..never heard of anybody that got them into his gs..

the only aftermarket cams I know of that you can put in your gs are interprep and some custom by Mike Selli (well known guy around here) and he's on probetalk too

Re: BP-T Price/parts

ok...well what internals are transerabable? and who makes the best... most people here in the states don't know alot about the MX-3 other than it's not popular... and most people in my area mess with Civics, and 240SXs as far as the import sene goes... this is why I've been lookin MX-3.com is kinda out of date.. well gettin there with it's links

well there's not much engine you can transfer the internals to the 1.8L..I mean the closest engine is a klde but it's a 2.5L so pistons, heads, block will be different...except maybe the camshafts and intake manifold..
