This is Fujimi's Lightweight Sports version which came with 18" wheels but they are too big for this car so I dropped to XS Tuning 17" wheels and XS brakes. The wheels are painted with Testors Magnesium buffing metalizer.

It's painted with Tamiya AS12 and cleared with TS13. The seats and door panels were sprayed with TS12 Orange straight on to the black plastic, it settled in it's own pattern with one coat so I left it. I masked the orange and airbrushed PolyScale Oily Black on the rest of the interior parts.

I painted the carpet black and accented the interior with aluminum metalizer. The roll bar is from the Aoshima Miata Exe kit and painted to match the wheels.

The headlight bezels and tail pipes are painted with Alclad chrome. MV lenses were used for the headlights and I did my own color scheme for the tail lights.

It's a nice kit overall with no fitting problems.

Hot little model of a hot little car. Odd, but great choice of subject matter for an American builder, but oh what a treat! Especially when built so beautifully clean. Your treatment of the XS tuning wheels is marvelous, they look real! Great work!

Kewl! :smokin:

Color looks great, wheel choice superb. 18's are too big for little cars.

Not sure I'm feeling the weathering on the red seat inserts, guess I'll just have to wait to see it in person. Ultra clean car w/grimy seats just looks a bit odd :sly: :icon16:

How'd you do the panel lines?

Thanks all!

The seat treatment is not a weathering effect, merely a orange/black fade pattern.

Great Model man!
I'm amazed by the clean build and super tasty subject but I would like to point out the wonderful photographs you took, they are one of the most beautiful I have seen, those reflections and tonal richness is just superb. They make the model justice.
Thanks for sharing that beauty.

Nice clean build. The fenders look a little too heavy for the wheels, and 18" wheels are probably too big. I might have tried to find some higher profile tires for this one. At any rate, it looks superb. Good job.

Thanks!

I tried many tire/wheel combos and very few made the car look as 'tuned' as these 35 series tires. Most tires that fit these rims were too tall and looked fat.

If you are going for more of a stock appearance there are many more options.

If it's possible, could you pop a wheel off and take a picture of the brakes? Oh, and post the picture when you take it, that would be even better.

Nice car.

Haven't seen that kit before, it looks good, especially for a Fujimi kit.
Great buildquality too. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/icons/icon14.gif
