I know you can use a paper clip on the Camaro/Trans-am's just wasnt sure if there was a way to do it to the Grand-am ???????? and also if there is a way..where can I go to see what that code is for?

funny you should say that...cause thats just what I did,an they tryed 2 different scanner tools and neither would even come on!
they claim its my car thats not letting them work, and I kinda have to believe it when they tryed 2 different ones,I dont know what the hell to do...but my engine light and ETS light is on and when I hit any grade/hill in the road it doesnt want to down shift..it hitches etc.

daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn!!!!!!

[quote=RR_Rick]If that is the case, I am not sure, but I would lean to checking the actual computer. Only reason y I think it would not read.QUOTE]

Re: Help !!!....

you have an OBD 2 computer, just get a scantool that supports OBD 2. The paperclip method only works with OBD 1 computers

Re: Help !!!....

I don't know why? should work, certain 94s and 95s can only be read at the dealer, but thats because it was during the transition phase between OBD 1 and 2, by 97 the transition was over so there shouldn't be any problems. strange.
