Here's one??

I like to think I take care of my baby, but today she has had a hiccup. :uhoh:

New:
Fuel Filter
K&N air filter clean
plugs
oil change every 2k
lubed often
AC radiator my fault on that one.

clean and dust grills/engine compartment & air intake tube+box often.

I was just about to leave the store and I go to start: She hesitates, bogs, then starts.

I drove alittle and she bogged on me.
I get home thje idle reved high, then to the point of cut off.

Not sure if it is the timing or if she needs new sparkplug wires or BOTH??

If I need a time check, what is the going cost? Already know about the wire cost.

I am at 61k miles. Time for new wires as well???

Any suggestions???? :disappoin

Hey chaser29,

If the engine speed is changing without any change in your throttle - check both the Idle air control valve and the throttle postion sensor. The IAC is easy to check. It is located betweent the manifold and the air cleaner - closer to the manifold - it can be disconnected while the vehicle is running. The truck's rpm should drop off. When you reconnect it the Rpm's should rise back up. The tps is harder to check - Do you have a mulimeter? - Both the IAC and the tps are each around 50 dollars at autozone. Good luck!

you may also want to check for a vacuum leak...but that doesn't sound like a timing problem (if it was, it would be more consistant).

Check you fuel pressure regulator, located to thr right of your intake. Good luck.

Could also be the MAF (just after the air filter). Mine failed without a hint and would not start. I unplugged the connector and the engine started but ran lousy, and shifted HARD, but it DID run.
Kinda pricey item to replace. Just keep checking and troubleshooting.
BTW.... you would get a MIL if the MAF was bad.
