Need used supercharger for 97 GTPchina 06-24-2004, 05:22 PM Anybody know of a good used supercharger for a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP? GTPCatz 06-24-2004, 05:57 PM junkyard....why whats wrong with yours? nst6563 06-24-2004, 06:32 PM curious...but how much would a supercharger from a junkyard cost? and could it be put on an engine w/o one already? if gotten from the junkyard...would everything needed to hook it up come with it? don't mean to steal a thread, but it's on the same topic. GTPCatz 06-24-2004, 07:30 PM and could it be put on an engine w/o one already? Not without changeing alot of other "stuff" in your engine....Its easier to do a L67 swap... Ripn12s 06-24-2004, 07:33 PM www.clubgp.com classified section Ed Morad has cmplete blowers. I think he usually gets $250 plus for complete blowers. You need more then just a blower to make a GT(l36) into a GTP ( l67). Lower intake/blower/tb/heads/pcm/injectors/fuel rails/ etc etc China, what is wrong w/ your 97's blower?? jvmoore1 08-23-2004, 03:32 PM *off topic* my 97 gtp engine has "surges" when idle. mechanic said replacing teh supercharger (what he said was teh problem) would be like 2,000.00 BIG-L 08-23-2004, 03:50 PM would be like 2,000.00 Thats because they would be getting one from the dealer. You can find rebuilt ones for way less then that......~Larry~ jvmoore1 08-23-2004, 03:57 PM how hard would it be to fix? or is this a shop kinda thing kustomkid54 08-23-2004, 04:13 PM There's one on Ebay right now. Should be able to get it cheap. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7917311062&category=33741 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v425/kustomkid54/1998PontiacGrandPrixGTP002.jpg Ripn12s 08-23-2004, 06:06 PM Doubt the blower is whats causing the "surging" at idle. Take the belt off and see how much play is in the pulley. Might be a bad coupler. Easy fix and no need for a new supercharger. How bout misfires. My 98 misfired at idle when stock. As soon as I gave it gas the misfires went away. Mechanic said that he'd seen that on GM cars before. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
