Loose Door Trimphilipja 06-22-2004, 03:33 PM Can someone help me on how to tighten my door trim? On my driver door, the woodgrain part with the window and vent controls is loose. How do I get behind there to tighten it up? I am assuming there are screws there because it is loosening more everyday. Thanks! KillerKeller_jr 06-22-2004, 04:00 PM I'll look when I get home from work at my repair manual. RoraStar96 06-22-2004, 06:54 PM Thanks, I am having this minor issue as well. More of a nuissance then a real problem KillerKeller_jr 06-23-2004, 03:11 PM Sorry I had a late meeting at work yesterday, unless someone else beats me to it I will check it out after work. philipja 06-23-2004, 03:15 PM Not a Problem,,, When you get to it is fine. After all, I am the one asking for the help.... DOUGSA 07-15-2004, 11:27 AM Is there any update on this? I have this problem too. rodtice 07-15-2004, 09:10 PM those switches are held in by a very poor design I'm sorry to say, in the front there is a piece of spring steel that holds it tight front to back, I'm guessing you guys are having the same problem I had, side to side movement. In an effort to tighten my switch panel up the spring steel broke, with little to No bending. There are no screws to tighten, I went to my dealer for the spring steel, not available seperate from the switches, they are hugely expensive, I then used some tacky glue to hold it tight. Better than new, or at least how I received it. To remove switch panel in the future I'll have to remove the door, and carefully press them out, fine with me though. Been great for 1.5yrs. philipja 07-16-2004, 02:47 PM Yes, I found out. I finally got tired of it and Pulled. Yep, little clip bent, broke when I bent it back. That is a really stupid way to hold all that together. Tacky glue sounds right. I was going to try super, but that may be more destructive if I ever have to get back in there.
