Does anyone know how to remove the rear light assembly. I removed the two screws beside the tailgate jam but seems there is a ball and socket joint that prevent removal of the assembly. I did not want to just pull it as it may breakt the plastic assembly and in the same moment cost a few hundred $ to replace.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I had the same problem with the tailight. The only 2 visible screws are removed but the light fixture does not come out. What you need to do is twist it slightly either way and pull. It is simply a round ball attached to a small rod that SNUGGLY pops in and out. Once you pull, even though you think it will break, which it won't, it will come off. I just did this today and finally managed to change my brake light.
