95 gst questionChoffo8705 06-20-2004, 10:58 PM I was wondering about how long a 95 eclipse gst would last. I found a 95 gst with 127,000 miles on it for about $3500. The timing belt was replaced at 85,000 miles and it was female driven (5 speed). What kind of deal is this? kjewer1 06-21-2004, 02:36 AM Sounds about right for that mileage. joemathews 06-21-2004, 01:40 PM Decent deal IMO. You could probably find a lower mileage one for a little more...like 90k or so for closer to $5k. It depends on your goals for the car; are you going to keep it close to stock or are you trying for 400whp or what? You may want a lower mileage vehicle if the latter is your goal. Way to get to 2,000 posts, Kevin ;) Choffo8705 06-21-2004, 01:43 PM I'm in my last year of high school so I was thinking of doing only little things for now. Intake, exhaust, suspension, and maybe blow-off valve. I hear that lowering springs will ruin your stock shocks sooner or later, so what would be a good deal for suspension? ashah000 06-21-2004, 01:48 PM I'm in my last year of high school so I was thinking of doing only little things for now. You should get aftermarket shocks. I would get a bov before messing with the suspension. I would probally get that first.. and if you are on a budget get a 1g BOV Choffo8705 06-21-2004, 02:16 PM Anyone know how much a new engine would cost? I'd probably just replace it with another 95 GST engine. JoeWagon 06-21-2004, 08:01 PM You would just do a rebuild, and you can price rebuild kits from sites like www.slowboyracing.com and i bet www.roadraceengineering.com has one. A car built for power might want a 6 bolt block, found in pre 92 turbo cars, but a stock 7 bolt can handle plenty. BoostedSpyder 06-21-2004, 09:06 PM you will have sooo much fun with it! that is a great price for the car, IMHO. if it has been properly kept and is stock and shit than you should have a pretty capable c on your hands. go for it! What's IMHO? and won't the turbo be going bad soon with so many miles on it? kjewer1 06-22-2004, 03:08 AM Way to get to 2,000 posts, Kevin ;) SAWEET! :icon16: IMO = In My Opinion IMHO = In my Humble/Honest Opinion, depending on the person/context. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
