Tire size?

Okay, I got a 2004 Corolla and just purchased some wheels and now need some tires.

Wheel Size : 17x7 5x100 42MM

So my question is... Which tire size do I get? I know I need some low profile tires. I want it to looked flushed with the car. Not sticking out... Not sinking in...Not too big... Not too small... Not to much space between the car and the tire.

17" wheel upgrade is a Plus Two fittment:

Choices are:

205/45-17
215/40-17
215/45-17

Hi,

Your 2004 Corolla came with 15 x 6 wheels. If your ride was a CE, it was equipped with 185/65/15 tires. The LE and S came with 195/65/15.

You can upgrade by going Plus 1 or Plus 2. Since you're looking at 17 inch wheels, I'll assume you've decided on Plus 2.

If your car started off with 195(width) /65(profile) /15(wheel width) tires and you wanted to use 17 inch wheels, Plus 2 is your ticket.

To bump up to Plus 2 you'd go with 215/45/17. This means that you increase all your tire specs 2 sizes. The next size up from 195 would be 205 and then 215. Your profile goes from 65 to 55 and then 45. Your wheel diameter also increases 2 from 15 to 17.

By going Plus 2, you've increased the tire's footprint, lowered the profile, and increased your wheel width, but at the same time you've maintained the overall tire diameter. Your speedometer will also read accurately since your tire modifications were done correctly.

The benefits should be improved cornering ability, steering response, and overall better vehicle control.

You can also go with 205/45/17 if the 215/45/17's are a bit too wide, but I think you'll be fine. Your local tire shop should be able to help you with this.

Hope this helps.

Heres a link also that will help you

To eliminate guessing about speedometer readings, you can go to a dealer and have him flash your ECU with the new sizes.
