Question Now what? shaking 93 GCL 5.2

Oh boy here i go with more questions.... my 93 GCL 5.2L with 140,000 Miles on it has a PROBLEM...... starts up fine, maybe alittle hard to start but not anything "major" but once you get it started, and rev the motor up it sounds like it is "gasping" this is to the point that you cant even drive it, it has no power, when you do drive it, after you get going the darn thing SHAKES.... anyone have any ideas? i have changed the TPS, CPS, plugs wires, cap rotor, cam sensor, and pulled the cat down to see if it was plugged up, NOTHING has fixed this or even made it better... ANYONE? oh yea and i went thru the WHOLE thing checking all vacume lines.......HELP ME!!!!

This may sound overly simple but I think switched plug wires may cause this.

OH just remembered one more thing - seems there was something about the intake manifold gasket failing and alowing a vacuum leak into the crankcase.

I don't remember where i saw it but I do remember it.

to check for the gasket problem remove the PCV valve from it's mount and bleed a small flow of gas from a propane torch into the oil filler hole in the valve cover. if the engine improves there's your proof

Ok you dont have a cam sensor so im assuming you meant the crank sensor on the back of the engine behind the passenger side head or the distributor pick up sensor in the distibutor.

hum... it sounds like you got the plug wires crossed, did it act the same before changing them?

did you remove the distributor? It sounds a bit like it could be a tooth off. But if you didnt, dont pull it.

check the fuel pressure, it sounds like it may be low. there is a schrader valve on the drivers side of the valve body. you can get a cheap fuel pressure tester at your local autoparts store. while you are there check the specs by looking in one of the manuals. it should be like 18- 40 psi I think.

That is the Cam Sensor. and the Crankshaft position Sensor is on the Passenger side kinda hard to get to but it is located in the bell housing of the Tranny. not trying to break your balls
