Question Disabling factory alarm

I have a '99 New Jetta GLS and the alarm system is all screwed up. It will go off at random times when I have the doors open. Does anyone know how to just disable it? Thanks!

Re: Disabling factory alarm

That probably won't work on a '99 as I posted that for an earlier car. You've got problems because that system is tied into several other of the car's systems you do not want to lose. The most common problem on your car is bad switches at the door lock or latch and broken wires at the connection between the door jamb and body. You don't have much choice but to get it fixed.
