civic 17x7 offset +40 ?????slow dx 01-23-2002, 08:04 PM I have a 94 civic coupe with neuspeed coilovers, lowered about 2 inches on 16x7 wheels with a +42 offset that never rub on anything. My question is , if I step up to a 17x7 wheel with a +40 offset will I have any rubbing problems? I would like to keep my car at its set height but I guess I could always raise it up alittle. Please respond, Thanks texan 01-23-2002, 09:00 PM What size tires are you running now, and what are you planning to run on the 17's? slow dx 01-24-2002, 05:58 PM I am running 205 45 16 and plan on running 205 40 17 on the new rims. Or will a skinnier tire cause less problems? I don't want the tire to look too skiny for the wheels though. Keep in mind that I drive the hell out of my car and my suspension gets a workout everyday. texan 01-24-2002, 06:17 PM Mathematically speaking, the new tires should only by about 5mm taller overall than the current ones, and with the miniscule change in offset I don't see any rubbing problems likely to occur. What we really need though is someone who runs this setup to confirm that nothing rubs. Hope this helps, peace. jocalucas 02-04-2002, 08:13 PM People with the same setup as you will have (17x7 lowered 2"), have been reporting rubbing problems on fast turns. If you plan to use 17x7 rims on 205/40/17 tires and don't want rubbing problems, get a 43-45mm offset rims. HTH jocalucas 1CiViC4u2Nv 02-27-2002, 02:42 PM i just bought the full neuspeed coilovers and plan on dropping my car about 2" also. i am ordering new rims when i get my tax refund check, i know that i definitely want 17x7" rims with a 205/40/17 falken ziex tire. however, i am unsure of what offset i should get for this wheel so that i do not have any rubbing under normal driving conditions(with a little hard cornering here and there)? i found an awesome deal for 17" tsw revos for $530 including shipping, but this wheel only comes in a +40 offset, would i encounter severe problems if i got this wheel with the drop and tires i have??(a little rubbing from a fast u-turn would not bother me) please help.:D Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
